Industry Associations The importance of Industry Associations and the support they provide to their members cannot be overstated. The furniture industry in Australia covers a vast range of businesses involved in furniture design, furniture making, shopfitting, cabinet making and transport and logistics, to name just a few. Furthermore, the base of raw materials used within the industry is huge, including, of course, fine timbers, a variety of metals and plastics, fabric, foam and an array of coatings like stain, lacquer and paint.
There are many associations out there, representing all areas of this industry, keeping their members informed of new products, market place influences and developments in technology as well as providing a place for forums, feedback and communication. They are also the key organisers when it comes to exhibitions and expos, showcasing all facets of the industry to business and consumers worldwide.
Industry Associations keep the wheels turning, so to speak, and provide a valuable service to thousands of small and large businesses around the country.
To include your Association on this page, please contact ifurn.com.au directly on (08) 8327 0100 or by email at info@ifurn.com.au, and we will be happy to discuss your requirements with you. About us The Tasmanian Timber Promotion Board is a body corporate that was established by an Act of the Tasmanian Government in 1970. The aim of the Board, as set out in the Act, is to promote the use of wood, in Tasmania and elsewhere. It is charged particularly with promoting timber produced in Tasmania.

The Board is funded by a Government imposed levy, collected from the sale of all crown saw logs.Membership of this site is at the discretion of the Tasmanian Timber Promotion Board. It is normally open to Board contributors and organisations that sell Tasmanian timber or products predominantly made from Tasmanian timber. For more information on joining the site, please email info@tastimber.tas.gov.au.
Comments Tasmania, with its unique geography and environment, has some of the finest cool temperate hardwood forests in the world and an expanding hardwood and softwood plantation estate. Using only the soil, sunlight, water, and carbon dioxide from the air, these forests produce some of the strongest and most beautiful timbers in the world. Tasmania's forest products are natural and unique. The Tasmanian Timber Promotion Board established and maintains the Tasmanian Timber Internet site to: • Support those who use Tasmania's strong and beautiful timbers. • Showcase the companies and groups that produce and sell it. This site can be used to source Tasmanian Timbers. It contains great information on local timber species, applications for use and the main timber suppliers.
